In a nutshell: we believe in the expressive power of live performances and artistic expression in the open air. 

Elyrea works with a network of artists – actors, musicians, dancers, circus artists, visual artists – to offer you an unforgettable experience.

The story

In 2021, between two confinements, we were travelling around the southern Peloponnese on foot and by sailboat, with a few travel journals as tourist guides. They include Henry Miller’s The Colossus of Maroussi, Jacques Lacarrière’s Greek Summer and Patrick Leigh Fermor’s Mani. The expressive power of these texts in contact with the land that had inspired them was a revelation.

Twelve months later,  two artistic cruises were launched in the Saronic Gulf, following in the footsteps of Henry Miller’s voyage there. The beauty and suggestive power of the declamations of the Colossus of Maroussi, performed by a single actor, confirmed this intuition. The combination with sailing and the maritime beauty of Greece was also a success. Elyrea was born. Artistic cruise itineraries are now available on request and made-to-measure. For cruises on sailing boats as well as ocean liners.

In contact with show and tourism professionals, a new direction will be taken in summer 2022: creating a digital platform listing quality tourist shows performed in the open air throughout France and Europe. With over 20 open-air shows available for the 2023 season, the challenge has largely been met!
